Animal Shelter (Frederick County)
FCAC is an exciting place where you can really make a difference! There are many volunteers who are actively involved with the care of the animals and the maintenance of the shelter. Starting on March 6, the shelter will undergo a year and a half renovation and expansion. During this time, the volunteer program hopes to recruit two or three new volunteers a month but may be limited by the construction.
Age Requirement: 15+

Brunswick Heritage Museum
The Brunswick Heritage Museum offers opportunities for volunteers to help clean and organize, to be a greeter, to run sales, be a docent, or help on their train layout. They are also a Presidential Volunteer Service Award entity meaning they can submit any of their volunteers for the Presidential Service Award as long as they have volunteered the required hours (not all of the hours need to be with them either, just some of them). They had two homeschoolers earn the Gold Presidential Service Award last year.
Age Requirement: Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
