Barefoot University follows the forest school educational philosophy that takes a holistic approach to learning while incorporating STEM, community service, field trips, and nature-based activities. Their communities meet each week and offer nature-based sciences and outdoor skills. Their get togethers are child—directed and play-based risk that build self awareness and confidence which include practical nature activities that are hands-on and also branch off into other subjects of learning to align it all under our yearly rhythm. Their leaders help facilitate the meet-ups, but parents are their child‘s teachers!

Open houses are typically held the week of March 30th which will be listed when and where on our public Facebook group.

Catholic Schoolhouse is a supplemental program designed to help homeschool families enrich their educational experience.  They offer a flexible approach to learning inspired by classical elements, presented in a structured environment. Their students study the same topics at all ages creating family unity.  The whole family has a place at Catholic Schoolhouse: from the youngest toddlers in our nursery to our rhetoric level scholars.

ECHO (Emmaus Catholic Homeschool Organization) is a welcoming community of Catholic homeschoolers offering connection, support, and meaningful opportunities for the whole family. ELEVATE Scholar-Athlete Leadership Academy is a Christ-centered homeschool co-op launching in Fall 2026 in Frederick, MD, designed to support and enrich middle and high school students through purposeful education, leadership development, and athletic excellence. ELEVATE partners with families to help students grow spiritually, academically, physically, and relationally, with a strong emphasis on identity in Christ, self-discipline, teamwork, and servant leadership. Families may choose for students to attend one or two days per week, offering flexibility to complement individual homeschool plans. A typical ELEVATE day includes athletic workouts, Bible study, academic classes, leadership training, and sport-specific clinics in basketball and volleyball. Through intentional programming, mentorship, and community engagement, students are challenged to pursue excellence with humility and to use their God-given gifts to positively impact their homes, teams, and communities.

Four Seasons Secular Co-op (FSSC) is a secular (non-religious), pro-science, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, anti-racist, anti-ableism homeschool cooperative in Frederick, MD. To be a member of Four Seasons Secular Co-Op you must authentically share and respect their values and principles. FSSC is a parent-run non-profit. Their goal is to encourage lifelong learning and cultivate curiosity, empathy, respect, leadership and communication skills in their students and member families. FSSC seeks to provide a safe and respectful family-centered community and support structure that celebrates diversity. They hope to empower families to work collectively to inspire children to become meaningful contributors to the global community. FSSC believes in experiential learning, creativity and exploration.

FCHC has a wide range of offerings, including Umbrella services, co-op programs, field trips, social events, and educational webinars. They have 2 campuses - One in Frederick operating out of Trinity United Methodist Church and the other campus is located in Howard County, MD. FCHC is a 501(c)3 non-profit that has been serving the homeschool community since 2013.

Frederick East Classical is an academic hybrid co-op that meets two days per week in Walkersville. Tutors coordinate instruction in all core subjects and electives on Monday and Wednesday, and assign homework for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This is a drop off tutorial co op that focuses on socialization, music, and art. There are different themes every month. We have a wonderful group of kids and would love to invite you and your family to join us.

Potomac Valley Homeschoolers is a Christian extra-curricular mom-taught co-op. Each mom teaches a class each semester. They meet every other Thursday morning for classes, with some free play in the afternoon. Email Shyra at shyrahock@yahoo.com for more information!

We are a classical, schole one day a week co-op serving families with students K-12. Rooted in Scripture and the classical tradition, we walk alongside homeschool families to cultivate wisdom through restful learning, disciplined reason, shared fellowship, and the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. We aim to develop servant-hearted leaders who love and proclaim truth and live faithfully, prepared to serve their families, communities, and the world in God’s glory. The one day a week community has families serving alongside each other to teach elementary students memory work, fine arts, science, and public speaking skills, along with writing and grammar programs. Middle and high school students dive into history, literature, composition, speech, logic, apologetics, and science.

Signature Homeschool Academy is a Christian co-op that meets on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Each week includes core academic classes—Science, History, and Writing & Literature—plus lunch, recess, and two engaging electives. What sets us apart is our daily homework spreadsheet, taking the pressure off parents by covering both planning and grading. Our goal is to offer a strong academic foundation in an encouraging space where students grow in confidence, take ownership of their work, and see God’s creativity woven through every subject.

Simply Seeded Learning Program is a full drop-off, mixed-age learning program for students ages 4–16, designed to foster independence, responsibility, and real-world skill development. Students learn alongside peers of different ages through hands-on classes, farm-based experiences, and collaborative learning that encourages leadership, mentorship, and growth.

Our program is intentionally structured to support both younger and older learners within the same community, creating a dynamic environment rooted in curiosity, responsibility, and connection.

We are a secular and inclusive family-led cooperative organized to create engaging learning opportunities and a warm community of fellow homeschoolers. At SCC, all families collaborate to provide classes for children ages 5-18 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in a space near downtown Silver Spring. All classes are facilitated by parent, caregiver, and/or student members. As a true cooperative, we have no paid staff. Registration fees pay for rental of our space and general shared supplies. We are not a school or a homeschooling umbrella. We are not a drop off program.

Sure Foundation Homeschool Tutorial is a 1-day a week homeschool cooperative, which offers academic and elective classes for K-12th grade.

TRIBE offers elective classes that are held on Thursday and Friday. Tours are offered year round - sign up for these can be found pinned to the top of the Facebook page.

WOCA is the oldest co-op in Frederick County, serving homeschool families since 2001.  We focus on community building through parent support, peer relationships, and rigorous academics.  The true definition of "cooperative operation" fules our families and our goals as we educate our students to the glory of God.

The Wild + Free Southern Frederick group is a bi-weekly hiking group that offers a children's book club and field trips. This is a group for homeschooling children and their mothers. Hikes will be scheduled mainly in Frederick and Montgomery counties but will occasionally be scheduled for surrounding areas.

Wild Sprouts offers homeschool classes for ages 5 through 9 that are taught by a certified elementary school teacher. They offer homeschool co-op classes (including math and reading instruction) as well as homeschool nature enrichment classes.

World Explorers Homeschool (WEH) Co-op is an inclusive homeschool community that is dedicated to nurturing globally-minded learners through the study of world cultures. We host weekly meetings on Tuesdays, book clubs, field trips, and volunteer opportunities.
