Local Tutors & Learning Centers

We know how important it is to feel confident about who is working with your kids. Every individual tutor listed here has passed a basic background check and provided references before being added to the site.

Learning centers are included as community resources. They manage their own staff and safety procedures, so please connect with them directly to learn more about their policies.

That said, just like with any other resource, we always recommend doing your own homework too. Chat with tutors and learning centers, ask questions, and make sure it is the right fit for your family. Please stay involved and use your best judgment. Your child’s safety comes first, and it is ultimately your responsibility.

Dyslexia Therapy

Bio:

Licensed Dyslexia Practitioner- CALP, LDP
K-5 dyslexia interventionalist. 16-year veteran, certified teacher teaching children to read and overcome reading difficulties.
I am an enthusiastic, optimist who will be cheering your child to the finish line!
My best qualification for teaching students with dyslexia is that I am dyslexic myself. I have great compassion for helping students overcome what has not been easy for me. We will embrace our neurodiversity together!
I enjoy teaching parents about dyslexia and how to help their child at home. The same structured literacy approach that I use for dyslexic kids, is also an excellent foundation for any reader. I teach individual students (or 2 students together) online. I would love to teach an in-person homeschool group (3-5 students) in the Frederick area for a discounted rate. I offer free dyslexia talks to groups and do low-cost reading education classes for parents. Reach out and let me know how I can best help you with your child's reading journey! Rather it should be an individualized plan tailored to your child and put together by a professional who knows what it's like to actually deliver instruction to students. As such, our company prides itself on being an affordable alternative to scripted programs.
