Students assume the name and identity of a local child who attended the Seneca school, read from McGuffey’s Readers, practice penmanship and arithmetic on individual slates, sing old-fashioned songs, learn the history of the time, play authentic outdoor games, participate in a spelling bee, practice recitation, do chores, and act out 19th century punishments.
